Final verdict - The woom OFF 4 is top of the range bike with a price tag to suit. The components are well-thought-out and make riding enjoyable for little kids, the bike is extremely lightweight and the geometry of the frame inspires confidence and comfort on off-road terrain. It's not a bike designed for black runs, jumps and drops, but if you have an adventrous 6 to 8 year old who wants to explore off-road trails, and have a big enough budget, this bike is and incredible choice.

Zack has just turned five but was 4½ when he first rode the woom OFF 4. He is very tall for his age, which has allowed him to transition to a larger bike earlier than most.

He got this bike when he was 119cm tall, and had an inside leg measurement of 54cm.

Zack loves cycle tracks and exploring forestry and woodland routes. He’s a confident cyclist for his age, enjoying a variety of riding styles, from cruising around the streets near home to tackling a pump track!

Before upgrading to the woom OFF 4, Zack was riding the Black Mountain KAPĒL 18" bike. He was ready for something slightly larger, with bigger tyres to handle more challenging terrain and enhance his riding experience.

We have reviewed many woom bikes here at Cycle Sprog and are always very impressed by their design and weight.

First impressions of the woom OFF 4 were overwhelmingly positive, with Zack immediately drawn to its cool looks and striking colour.

He was particularly excited by the big tyres and the presence of lots of gears, which gave it a "proper mountain bike" feel.

Our own reaction mirrored his- the bike is undeniably smart, with sleek branding and high-quality components that make it stand out. Compared to Zack’s previous bike (which was great in its own right), this felt like a significant step up, with its larger frame, lightweight design, and sophisticated gearing system.

True to form, Zack hopped on without hesitation and took to it instantly.

Assembly was straightforward, with clear instructions making it easy to straighten the handlebars, fit the front wheel, and attach the pedals.

The bike has even turned heads, with others commenting on its high-quality finish and fantastic design.

The woom OFF 4 is packed with high-quality components that make it an outstanding choice for young riders.

Its lightweight 6061 T6 aluminium frame, with butted and hydroformed tubes, not only looks sleek but makes the bike easy to manoeuvre, whether tackling challenging trails or lifting it onto a car rack. The frame geometry has been thoughtfully designed to inspire confidence, with a low top tube for easy access, a low centre of gravity for stability, and a long wheelbase that provides excellent balance. This combination makes the bike fun and safe to ride, particularly for kids who are eager to explore a mix of terrains and try their hand at more technical riding.

While not designed for extreme off-road riding, such as black runs, jumps, or drops, the woom OFF 4 is perfect for adventurous kids looking to build their skills on a variety of terrains and enjoy a smooth, capable ride.

The Promax hydraulic disc brakes with 140mm rotors delivered exceptional stopping power, a critical feature for young riders building their confidence on technical terrain.

Zack found the brake levers easy to reach and operate, even with thick gloves, which is a testament to their thoughtful design for smaller hands.

The brakes were equally effective in wet and muddy conditions, providing reliable performance no matter the weather.

The 20” Schwalbe Rocket Ron tyres deliver exceptional grip on varied terrain, from muddy woodlands to gravel paths. Zack was particularly impressed with the tyres, appreciating their substantial size and how secure they felt on uneven surfaces, which gave him added confidence during off-road adventures
