If you and your kids haven’t yet watched Danny MacAskill’s “Imaginate” then you’re in for a treat!
The film is set in 1987, when a young Danny is daydreaming away his time (much to his Mums’ despair). It’s a breathtaking display of some of the finest bike stunts you’re likely to see, in a setting that immediately appeals to children – a messy bedroom!
The film has no doubt acted as a huge inspiration to riders of all ages, and who knows if the next Danny has got on a bike as a result of watching this film?
But it’s also a poignant reminder to all of us parents that whilst we may often chide our kids for doing certain things that drive us mad, they could be honing the passion and skills needed to succeed in later life.
Thankfully Danny ignored the demands of him mum to stop messing around with his toy bike. The result is a 7 minute film that had our whole family spellbound – I’ve not heard my boys use the words “Wow!” and “Cool!” so many times in such quick succession.
