Monthly balance bike rental with the Bike Club
From £5.94 per month (15% off for 12 months)
We're adding the Bike Club in here because they can be a good way to get a quality balance bike more cheaply, and without the upfront cost.
With the Bike Club you pay a monthly subscription in return for a long term lease of one of their new or used kids bike. When your child outgrows it you just send the bike back and upgrade to the next size.
They only stock great quality, lightweight bikes (as they need them to last lots of children), so you have peace of mind that you're always going to have a decent, reliable bike for your child.
The Bike Club stock Frog, woom and Forme balance bikes - all premium brands with high price tags if you're buying new.
They also do larger balance bikes with 14" wheels such as the Frog Tadpole and woom 1 Plus for older / taller children who aren't ready for pedals yet, and the Frog Tadpole Mini with 10" wheels for those little ones ready to get riding!
You can often opt for a reUse balance bike which has been leased before and is therefore cheaper (and better for the environment).
Prices start from £5.49 per month and include a 15% discount for the first 12 months.
Bike Club do tend to run out of popular models well before Black Friday so we'd recommend acting sooner rather than later if you want to sign up.
For more info read our guide Should I subscribe to Bike Club instead of buying a kids bike?

Islabikes Rothan 12 £199.99 £169.99
With Islabikes now selling off the last of its wares before closing up shop, you can get a discount on their remaining stock until it's gone. We would advise that you use a credit card when buying from retailers and manufacturers who are in the process of closing though, just to make sure your purchase is safe and you're covered in the event that it doesn't get fulfilled.
Vitus Nippy Superlight Balance Bike
Was £44.99 Now £34.99
Vitus have made one of the tiniest, lightest and cheapest balance bikes.
The thing to know about this bike is it's only sold at Wiggle Chain Reaction who have recently gone into administration.
They do still seem to be shipping things, but we'd advise to use your credit card just in case they go under before the bike arrives. And be aware after sales service is likely to be non-existant if you do have an issue.
That said, the Nippy is a really lightweight. small balance bike (just 1.9kg) with tiny 10" wheels so is ideal for younger children, who will find it really easy to move about.
It has solid tyres (rather than pneumatic) which means you won't have problems with punctures, but means it's not as suited to long outdoor rides.
It's suitable for children with an inside leg of 31cm to 38cm and is a great choice for smaller toddlers wanting to play in the garden, house or paved paths.
At the time of writing they only had the silver bike left in stock and was reduced to £34.99.
What is a balance bike - and should I buy one for my toddler this Black Friday?
A balance bike is a tiny little two wheeled bike without pedals, which allows your toddler to scoot along. It really helps them learn to balance, and makes the transition to a pedal bike so much easier.
A balance bike is usually cheaper and much lighter than a pedal bike, and a lot more fun for very young children.
We highly recommend that a balance bike is the way all kids learn to ride, rather than traditional stablisers and a heavy, steel framed pedal bike.

It's suitable for toddlers and young children with a inside leg from 30cm through to 48cm. This impressive range is one of the biggest available, so this balance bike can fit children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years - depending on how tall the child is.
