Quality kids bike manufacturer Islabikes are launching two new starter bikes – the Cnoc 14 Small and the Cnoc 20.
Islabikes have told Cycle Sprog that they realised that there were two sizing gaps in their starter bike range – for smaller children who are already pedalling but are too small for the Cnoc 14, and for kids that have outgrown the Cnoc 16 starter bike, but aren’t yet ready to ride with gears, as found on the 20″ Islabikes Beinn.
Coming just several weeks after the launch of the Islabikes Pro Series that is targeting the junior racing market, the launch of two new starter bikes confirms Islabikes commitment to the continued development of their main bike range.
The Islabikes Cnoc 14 Small Starter bikes
The Cnoc 14 Small has 14″ wheels and a 6.5″ frame, and weighs in at 5.6kg with pedals.
The Islabikes Cnoc 14 Small is aimed at two types of children. Firstly, those that are 4 years or older but physically small for their age, such that they’re unable to fit the ‘original’ version of the Cnoc 14 (now known as the Cnoc 14 Large – 14″ wheel and an 8″ frame – 5.7kg with pedals).
Secondly the Cnoc 14 Small has been designed for those children who learn to pedal young (i.e. at age 3 years), and need a smaller pedal bike than was previously in the Cnoc range. The Cnoc 14 Small will be available in Red and Pink, and retails at £259.99. This is the same price as the Cnoc 14 Large, which comes in a wider range of colours.
The Islabikes Cnoc 20 Starter Bikes
At the larger end of the starter bike range, the Cnoc 20 is designed for taller kids who aren’t yet ready to use gears. These are young riders with a minimum inside leg measurement of 47cm, which is usually around a height of 110cm, and aged 5 years. As a single speed bike, the Cnoc 20 is lighter than it’s geared cousin the Beinn 20.
The Cnoc 20 is priced at £299.99, and has 20″ wheels, a 10″ frame and weighs 6.8kg including pedals. As a comparison the Beinn 20, Islabikes geared bike offering in this wheel size, is priced at £349.99 and weighs 8kg with pedals.
Both the Cnoc 14 Small and the Cnoc 20 will come with the new Islabikes graphics, which merge the new brand design with the more traditional Islabikes wording.
The Islabikes Cnoc 14 Small and the Cnoc 20 are available only via the Islabikes website
