One of the world’s biggest cycle retailers Wiggle CRC has today (27th October 2023) announced it is going into administration.

The Wiggle and Chain Reaction Cycles websites have been really popular with parents looking for good value kids bikes, mainly due to their inhouse Vitus range which has been steadily building up a wide range from balance bikes through to mountain and road bikes.

Their parent company Signa Sports United (SSU) has struggled with financing and earlier this week the cycling press began issuing warnings about the future of Wiggle CRC, which made losses of £97m in their last full year of trading.

This news comes less than 24 hours after kids bike pioneers Islabikes announced they were stopping the sale and manufacture of bikes.

Also during 2023 the failure of distributors Moore and Large and FLI mean Forme and Puky Bikes are no longer with us.
